名利跑馬燈〈爭議存在〉91利

誰知比利沒有意識到他們的錯誤,反而還變本加厲的說著:「Alex, why didn't you speak anymore?

Did you change to the dumb route today?

That's great.

Normally I hate me saying something, but you just follow it. This is really annoying.

Now we can chat as much as we want, and no longer have to worry about the eyes of others.
 」

艾力克斯看似面無表情,但實則心裡不停咒罵道:「  Please, you have disturbed me, so I can't worry about my feelings as well as other people's feelings.

It's really white-eyed, and I won't look at my face as expected.

I really persuaded you, and I don't think about it at all.

華森很不順眼艾力克斯的舉動,他終於忍不住說著:「  Alex, let me just say it straight, you hate us, you must look down on us from your heart, but you really think that you can make friends without contacting us.

It's impossible.

 Do you know why? 」

“ So what?

I don't care much about doing my shit.

Alex refused to say a word, he just silently ate the half-eaten burger, his mouth was full of lettuce and burger meat, and his cheeks bulged like a billowing balloon. ”

華森說到氣都上來了,他怒氣沖沖的說著:「Who do you think you are?

If it weren't for us to see you pitifully, you don't even have a companion, and everyone hates you.

You know that your annoying part is arrogance.

You are too self-righteous, and no one wants to be near you. 」

“Whatever you say, anyway, as long as I eat my meal quietly, I can see nothing, hear nothing, and no one can interrupt my meal time.

Alex was indifferent, only the sound of him eating in the air.
 ”

華森也是氣瘋了,他不小心就道:「You really think someone will come to talk to you after we ignore you, then I think you think too much.

Even if we don't care about you, they still won't come over because they don't like you from the bottom of their hearts.

Why, because you are an Oriental.

Do you know what an Oriental is called, Sick Man of East Asia. 」

“This is the first time that a sick man in East Asia has heard from a Westerner.

At the beginning, I didn't know what it meant, but I didn't care to continue eating my meal, anyway, pretending that I didn't understand it, it would be fine. ”

“It was only when I went to the library to look up the dictionary later that I discovered that the 「sick man in East Asia」 was one of the most important nationalist words in modern China.

Originally written by the British, it was a common expression in English used to criticize the corruption and incompetence of the Qing empire.

Later, during the national salvation movement in the late Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, through the propaganda and misinterpretation of Liang Qichao and others, elements of "evolution" and nationalism were added, and they were often fabricated from foreigners to refer to the low physical quality of the Chinese.

Inspiring compatriots has become a typical term for inspiring Chinese nationalism. ”

“The term "Sick Man of East Asia" first appeared as "Sick Man of the East".

It came from an article on October 17, 1896 in the English newspaper "Zi Lin Xi Bao" run by the British in Shanghai.

The author was British and criticized bureaucratic corruption and ethics.

The bad late Qing government. Westerners used "Sick Man of ××××" to criticize many governments, such as the Ottoman Turkish Empire and Persia in the 19th century, and even the powerful Germany was criticized as the sick man of Europe.

It may be because Germany has just become a European power. Rise.

The Western world in the late Qing Dynasty called China the "sick man", not only had nothing to do with the physical fitness of the Chinese people, but there was no such thing as "sarcasm" or "ridicule".

Another article "Exploring the Origin of the Source", also published in the "World Bulletin" in 1896, was written by the foreign missionary Li Jiabai, who compared China to a patient, and the author regarded himself as a doctor and prescribed many prescriptions for China. ──The themes of the article are "On the situation of the ills", "On the source of the ills", "On the sense of eliminating the ills", "On the roots of the ills", etc., and systematically describe the author's management of the Qing government, finance, Opinions on education and other aspects.

In fact, Europeans think that Chinese people have bad hygiene habits and criticize China's messiness and backward medicine, but they seldom say that China's health is weak.

On the contrary, many foreign doctors believe that Chinese people can still live in such a harsh environment, show strong immunity and be healthy.

Around 1903, Chinese intellectuals represented by Liang Qichao expanded the connotation of the "Chinese Sick Man" in the West.

Liang Qichao used "sick man" to describe all Chinese people for the first time in "Xinmin Shuo", saying: "Husband China is also a sick man from the East, and he is insensitive and unkind for a long time."

As soon as "Xin Min Shuo" was published, the term "sick man" was used to describe China's mental backwardness and insensitivity, which became fashionable in the media circles.

In 1903, Chen Tianhua wrote "Jing Shi Zhong", and said: "Foreigners do not call (Chinese) as the sick man of the East, they call him a barbaric and vulgar species."

In 1905, the novel "Nie Hai Hua" was published, and its author, Zeng Pu, immediately signed it as "The Sick Man of East Asia."

The book became popular and was the top bestseller at the time.

The term "Sick Man of East Asia" quickly spread.

In fact, Zeng Pu's use of "Sick Man of East Asia" to self-condition is largely due to his poor health.

Since then, the Chinese themselves entangled the "sick man of East Asia" with the national physique problem.

In other words, this is a kind of Chinese people's own label.

In the minds of Chinese people, "the sick man of East Asia" has always been a scornful term for Chinese sons and daughters by foreigners.

Many Chinese people understand the term "Sick Man of East Asia" as the Chinese people in the late Qing dynasty who smoked opium caused their body to become weak, so they were despised by foreigners.

It is also similar to what people call "opium smokers"; modern Chinese people also suffer from secondhand smoke.

Harm, air pollution and black-hearted food are regarded as the reappearance of the sick man in East Asia.

There was a story like this:
In the 11th Olympic Games held in Berlin, Germany in 1936, the Chinese delegation participated in nearly 30 competitions, with a total of more than 140 people.

Later, in all competitions, except pole vaulter Fu Baolu entered the semi-finals, the rest of the participants were eliminated in the preliminary round, and the Chinese Olympic delegation was wiped out.

When these Chinese athletes passed through Singapore on their way back home, the local newspaper published a cartoon of foreigners mocking and mocking the Chinese: under the Olympic rings, a group of Chinese people with long braids, long robes and jackets, described as skinny, used stretchers.

Carrying a big duck egg titled "Sick Man of East Asia."

However, Xinhuanet believes that this story also has some suspicious points.

First, no one has found the cartoon that the Chinese saw in Singapore in 1936, so this story can only be regarded as an unproven legend.
Second, there is a "big and huge" duck egg drawn on the comic, but foreigners do not use "duck egg" to describe the word "zero" like the Chinese do.

Except for an article by an Englishman in 1896 and a cartoon supposedly drawn by a foreigner in 1936, I have not seen other foreigners using "Sick Man of the East" or "Sick Man of East Asia" to insult Chinese people.

In the future, "Sick Man in the East" became a common term used by the Chinese.
